Too much independence
in adolescence can sometimes become a threat.
On one hand, the intelligence of teenagers
today cannot be undermined and parents cannot expect their young children to
follow complete obedience. On the other hand,
allowing them to follow their conscience poses
challenges of a different kind.
The abundance of
information through media and friends has led to intolerance
of parental interference. Hence, balancing
relationship with the teenage kids requires a lot of perseverance
by parents in modern India.
